NOMINATIONS

THE MOST INSPIRING VOLUNTEERING STORY IN THE YOUTH FIELD


AWARD PURPOSE

This award recognizes a volunteer who, who’s voluntary contribution and story in one of a youth project or youth organisation, over some period of time, has strengthened or enhanced the community and wellbeing of young people. The award aims to increase of credibility of volunteer’s experience and voluntary time contribution.

THE VOLUNTEERING STORY SHOULD:

  • Be completed in 2019
  • be implemented on a local, national or international level, might be also done within an ESC project
  • be good practice and provide inspiring learning moments for others
  • be initiated or led by young people or with involvement of a youth organisation in different stages of the process/project,

AWARD CRITERIA

This award honors individuals whose volunteering in an organization and/or within a youth project, have gone above and beyond volunteer contributions, but also inspired (or might inspire if shared) other young people the values of youth work and would motivate young people to volunteer as well. In completing the nomination application, the nominator should address one or more of the following, providing examples of how the nominee:

  • Actively participated in a volunteering project or initiative, what change it brought and how it helped a volunteer to get competences, which are important and couldn’t be gained in other way, which lead to a volunteer’s self-fulfillment, finding a job or just becoming more confident.
  • Exercised many skills and knowledge inspiring others by modeling initiative, accepting and carrying out essential responsibilities.
  • Worked collaboratively with other volunteers, looking for synergies and inspiring others achievements.

WHO CAN NOMINATE?

  • Organisations, movements and informal groups who have led projects on relevant topics and know such an inspiring story;
  • Individuals who have been part of or led any relevant volunteering initiatives/projects.

THE MOST IMPACTFUL VOLUNTEERING YOUTH INITIATIVE or PROJECT


AWARD PURPOSE

This award identifies, salutes and honors volunteering project or initiatives related with youth that organizations has implemented. While there are many aspects to a projects’ success, IMPACT, we consider, is the forefront of the projects we implement within our organisations and youth clubs. Impactful projects are important of encouraging youth participation, empowerment and keep youth organizations sustainable beyond the lifetimes of projects.

THE PROJECT SHOULD:

  • Be completed in 2019

  • be implemented on a local, national or international level (Erasmus+ projects are welcomed)

  • have impactful practice on young people’s lives

  • be initiated or led by a youth organisation or an informal youth group

AWARD CRITERIA

Recipients of this award are recognized for demonstrating and following a systematic approach to impactful volunteering initiatives and for the development within their organizations. Results of the youth initiative will show evidence of demonstrated positive impact and change. In completing the nomination application, the nominator should address one or more of the following, providing examples of how the nominated organization:

  • Demonstrates how they determined the need for support and the role of volunteers in the effort of their youth initiatives/projects.

  • Incorporated volunteering recognition strategies and values as an integral component of the organization's culture, values and principles and excellence through initiaives.

  • Produced evidence of demonstrated positive impact, goal achievement or outcome realization.

  • Demonstrated commitment through the projects and initiatives significant to ensure impact and sustainability.

THE BEST VOLUNTEERING RECOGNITION TOOL OF THE YEAR


AWARD PURPOSE

This award recognises the effective use of a tool or method to improve, enhance and add value to the experience and recognize competences obtained through volunteering in youth work, youth projects where non-formal and informal learning happens.

Measurable achievements include statistics such as number of tools users or subscribers, login frequency / number of sessions, session duration, statistics regarding downloads, usage, logins, engagement, measured against stated goals to increase social, self, formal or political recognition and validation of non-formal learning and volunteering.

THE TOOL SHOULD:

  • Be actively used or created in 2019

  • be used to increase self-recognition, social, formal or political recognition

  • have measurable impactful in reaching to some level of recognition

  • be initiated or led by a youth organisation or an informal youth group

AWARD CRITERIA

Recipient of this award is recognized for demonstrating a systems approach to the creation or effective usage of tool aimed to increase the recognition of volunteering, outcomes of non-formal learning, youth work within their organizations.

In completing the nomination application, the nominator should address one or more of the following, providing examples of how the nominated organization:

  • Created or used the tool and good practices for better recognition of volunteering in youth work and non-formal learning/education.

  • Produced evidence of demonstrated positive impact, goal achievement or outcome realization with measurable results.

WHO CAN NOMINATE?

  • Organisations, movements and informal groups who have created or effectively adapted recognition tools

Awards you should apply

  1. No submission fees

  2. The awards categories are within the project for the first time and the awards are not sponsor-driven

  3. Categories are chosen in key areas of the project direction and main objectives

  4. Selected projects are recognised as "Success Stories" and project leaders will be invited to talk about their projects to their peers at the Awards Ceremony Gala in Brussels on 20th March 2020

Eligibility criteria

  • The Erasmus+ International Volunteer Youth Awards are open to International, national, regional or local organisations, which are based in Erasmus+ programme and partner countries.

  • Only projects, the majority of which have been carried out within 2019 are eligible.

  • An organisation may submit multiple entries, both in the different categories and in the same category providing that the entries are for different projects or tools.

  • The jury of this awards is composed from the consortium involved in the project.
